Trip to Banyuwangi - Baluran National Park

Last weekend was too awesome that I almost forgot to take my breath back.

A friend told me,
“If you have a dream, write it down!”

It suddenly came to flash back the time when me and my housemates were spending our lazy Sunday morning watching the TV about 2 years ago. What we saw on TV really caught our attention. It was a travelling tv program, showing interesting places in Indonesia. The host went to a very unique place, which looks like a safari in Africa, with the high trees in a desert like ground, and wild animals running free. It was Baluran National Park. I remembered Ima took our phone book and jot it down right away. So, Baluran National Park, Banyuwangi – is somewhere we MUST go!

Then, it was the Ijen Creater a.k.a Kawah Ijen. I saw that about a year ago from the internet. It was mesmerizing in the picture and I couldn’t get my mind out of it. I really wanted to go, but I was too doubtful about my friends to go hiking the mountain with me. I told Frente anyway, and there was Mbak Syifa too. What a coincident, Mbak Syifa’s hometown is in Banyuwangi, where both Baluran and Ijen are. OMG!!!!!!

So apparently, Mbak Syifa had been planning to bring me there, to fulfill my wishes. It has been months. When Mbak Syifa offered me and my friends to come along with her to Banyuwangi, without sparing a single second, I agreed to go! Then I convinced my friends to come along.

There was quite a long story beneath it all, until we made it to Banyuwangi. Mbak Syifa, Amak (her son), me, Frente, Sit, Ima and Zana took the 8 hours journey by road. We preferred to sleep along the way, her driver is crazier than F1 racer. We arrived her house and settled down our asses (dah duduk lama sangat dalam kereta kot), and get ready for our Safari adventure the next day!

Now, let the pictures tell the story…

This is it! Can you believe it!
Yay, we've made it girls!!

Italian Luncheon

The canteen foods are getting up on my throat already! The fact that I had too much of kacang bolong and other junk foods is now making me irritable than ever. Forensic department, despite of the stress-less, the smells just inevitable! The stress-less of forensic is starting to stress me out already, I need to do something! Where is the patient? Hah, drama queen, over, nak patient plak!

Alhamdulillah, I got my case today. I’ve been praying hard that I should get a ‘patient’, at least by the end of today. As soon as I stepped feet into the meeting room this morning, they called me out..

“Bil, ada visum!”

“Really?? Beneran?! Yayy!” excitedly walked down into the autopsy room.

Aww… such a heartbreaking, it was a body of a 5 year old little girl. At least it is not a baby. Oh by the way, we’ve had two cases of pembuangan bayi. Damn to those who did it! I wish I could post the photos during the autopsy or at least talk about it here in my blog…

It was such a relief to get my visum case before the day ended, or I’ll be on-call. To celebrate my ‘success’ or more to ‘lucky day’, I went to have lunch at Malibu with Frente, and we had Italian!!! I love Italian foods! Yummy!!

Penne marinara - mine
Speghetti olio aglio - hers
Actually both of us secretly craving for the olio aglio, after Zhaf’s birthday dinner last week. hehe

p/s: best kan, lepas dah busuk2 bedah mayat buat autopsy, pastu makan!!!!

Happy Birthday Sayang!

Rindu dah!!!

I just came back from Juanda, doing the thing I hate the most – saying goodbye to Zuffy.

One thing I hate about getting visits from family, friends and boyfriend, is the part where they have to go back and leave me alone. Sedih tau! To suppress that feeling, I had to think back of all the sweet times together. Now that I’m recalling it… *tears start falling*
With my birthday boy!
Sit and Christina missing in this picture
Zuffy came over the weekend, for our ritual birthday celebration together. He arrived Malang on Friday with my favourite instant Teh Tarik Aik Cheong and an iPad 2 for miss bestie Frente. I don’t just drink instant teh tarik, but it has to be Aik Cheong! Or else, the mamak has to tarik it for me!! There are just a lot of other instant teh tarik brand out there, first of all, Max Tea sucks, then BOH brand, the tea tastes so BOHy tea, not like teh cap masjid (like the mamak usually use), then there’s Cek Hup’s, I rate it 7 out of 10, not bad. Aik Cheong cost a fortune here in Lai Lai market, about double the price than what you can get back in Malaysia. But who cares right, who wants to drink Max tea anyway? Yucks! (oh btw, AirAsia Indonesia serves Max tea if you order teh tarik, yucks again!)
Kawan-kawanku yang sangat comel
Back to Zuffy story in Malang. As usual, we went for a spa retreat! Not really spa, but just hairspa and foot reflexology. I am so thankful for the fact that we share the same interest, we love to go to saloon and spa! I’m saying this because Zuffy is not really a good companion for shopping. He shops like a typical man, see-like-fit-buy, unlike me see-look around-look around again-fit-think-compare-look around again-really like it-can’t live without it-buy, buy, buy and end up buying all.
celebrating birthday together *love*
Then it was Zuffy’s birthday! The second time for him to celebrate in Malang. The generous birthday boy treated me and my friends a birthday dinner. And since we love Italian, we had Italian dinner!!
Happy birthday sayang!
We got this cake from Mbak Icha's cafe, The Sisters.
Surprise surprise! The birthday boy didn’t know about the cake. When he was about to order for dessert, the waiter came out with the cake all lit up. The look on his face – priceless.
Mr. Bf, Mr.Raja and Miss Nad
The sweet couple - Amel and West <3
After the dinner, we proceed for coffee, at where-else if not at my favourite place Java Dancer! What a surprise for me too, there were Amel and her boyfriend, and Kak Nad too were there waiting to celebrate Zuffy with us! Rajavel was also there having his time alone, then he was forced to join us too! LOL! Happy happy moment!! Happyyyy!! Thank you bestie for planning it perfectly! Then there was Mbak Syifa too, oh so complete party!
Late night coffee
semua dah ngantuk...
my babes
It was a pleasant to be surrounded by all these people around. My life is so blessed!

Thank you sayang for coming, you’re the straw to my berry. You’re the sweetest of all!
My bestie
Thank you Frente for arranging the surprise, making the reservation and getting the cake and getting the people to it. You’re my bestie!

Thank you to my housemates for celebrating it with us, to Amel and West, and to Mbak Syifa for completing the party!

Most of all, Alhamdulillah Thank you Allah! Everything you have arranged for us is so wonderful for me.

72nd weekdays - Lamongan

7 weeks left in Malang? Oh… *sayunya hati ini*

I am never less excited about graduating, but to leave Malang in that short of time (after almost 6 years) is just heartbreaking. Okay, enough of drama.
On the high road to Lamongan
Last weekends, after the long hectic month, Frente and I decided to take a short break and run to the beach. We had been talking a lot about having to breathe out of the hospital for awhile, we had been wanting to see the endless horizon line by the beach, we wanted to feel the sea breeze and hear the waves drumming on the sandy beach, for short, we desperately needed a break!
After the sunset, view from the hotel balcony
Lamongan, is a perfect location for the moment. Not so far, easy to access, and there’s a theme park there! We’ve been asking around about how to get there and Frente looked up in the internet for accommodation. Right after work, without wasting a single second, we headed straight there. We gotta reach there before the sunset! We just had to lie somewhere to watch the sun dipping itself into the sea. Fortunately, we made it right on time, it looked so mesmerizing from our balcony! Subhanallah, it was beautiful! Perfect, checked!
Good morning Lamongan
Having breakfast by the beach
The morning we woke up to the sound of the wave battering put an endless serenity into the nippy morning breeze, that was exactly what we had been wanting to hear – perfect, checked! Initially, we wanted to jog (but…). Then we got ready for the day at the WBL (Wisata Bahari Lamongan) where we were entitled for two free ticketscompliment of our stay at the resort. WBL was fun!
Wisata Bahari Lamongan
The water park
I went on that!!
We made it!
The small fishermen village
Then there was another recreational place just opposite the WBL, Zoo Goa Maharani. It’s a zoo with all the animals and stuff, and there’s also a natural cave where they had turned it to a very convenient cave for tourist to travel into, and also a gallery of collections of beautiful and unique gem stones.

Found my mate, memang dah plan nak pakai color sama.
In the end of the day, I realized that this getaway happened not just for the sake of stress-escape, it happened for me, Frente and for the sake of our friendship. Thank you babe!
Another sunset to catch!
You're my sweet donkey
The next day we woke up, albeit of the tranquility of the wave sound, birds chirping and the chilly morning breeze, we hate that it was Sunday. Kena balik, besok sekolah! Bye Lamongan. We had fun, definitely.
The next day, on the way back to Malang, guess what we found?!

** Sebenarnya dah wish dah, papa’s birthday on the 5th, but I’d just like to jot it here down in my blog. Haritu terlampau stress untuk blogging sebab memikirkan tentang Urology… sampai deman2 :(

Icha & Heri, 12th March 2011
The Siagian's crowd
Exactly the day after repeating my urology surgery department, there was Mbak Icha’s wedding. I was there to help her with the guest registration. The reception was so beautiful that you got to see it to believe it.
Sorry tak sempat bergambar dengan pengantin.
Bukan anak kami
The following week, I came back home to Malaysia for Zuffy’s sister’s wedding. It was sure a pressure for him answering the ‘question’ from his relatives for sure! Hahaha kesian you… it was a great weekend spent with Zuffy, and then with my whole family. Everyone was at home. I got to meet my little mr.Sunshine Aaron Adam!
Si comel ni memang sangat active!
Perfect eight!

BACK TO DOOM!

It was my Urology Surgery repeating week! I had quite a bad fever the week before, and my period was delayed.

Attention! Urology Surgery is the scariest department in the whole of RSSA! Autopsy lab in forensic pon kalah. Bukan scary sebab hantu ke iblis, tapi supervisors dan segala2nya, termasuklah secretarynya juga menakutkan (boooo mbak Siwi booo!!)

As soon as I was done with the final assessment, Frente brought me a little piece of chocolate from Jakarta, it was the most expensive chocolate I’ve ever had. Yummyyh~

Talking about my Urology final assessment, I got a case of a 40 year old man with urethral strictures. As usual, the physical examination was a bit troublesome. Apparently, I had to feel the penis of my patient with three of my first fingers of both hands, in order to find the strictures along the urethral. It need no effort to make the penis go erect, it was as easy as filling in catheter tube. The problem was, when I was feeling (or more like pressing in a massage motion) my patient’s object, he was laughing all the way.

“Pak, tolong diam sebentar ya”

I said as I was profusely sweating with Dr.Penta on my side.

“Yo opo mas guyu2 thok! Diem no opo…”

Kan dan kena marah dengan isteri! Padan muka!

So, that was it, Alhamdulillah, I could feel few areas of strictures which turn out to be exactly the places shown in the urethography.

Now that I’ve passed my urology surgery. Praise to the Almighty Allah.
